FAQ

Q.What is the Driveway Series?

A. The biggest, longest running weekly bike race in the country that takes place on a 1.6 mile, 44ft wide asphalt track under 4 miles from downtown Austin, Texas!

Q. I’ve never raced before, how do I get Started?

A. First off, congrats on taking the plunge into bike racing! The Driveway is a USA Cycling event, which requires a USAC license which can be purchased here. If you’re not ready to commit to an annual license, you can purchase a one-day license for $15 through BikeReg.

A helmet and bib number (which we give you!) is required at the track, as well as signing a waiver through BikeReg or on-site. Criterium racing does not allow for tri-bikes/aerobar extensions at the track.

Want some extra guidance in the world of bike racing? We’ve partnered with The LeadOut Foundation to provide extra guidance around racing at The Driveway. Whether you’re a junior racer, first timer, or someone that needs some extra help, reach out to them at the Track or via email. In the past, mentors have also met with mentees outside of the track as well!

Q.How Do I register?

A. The Driveway Series uses BikeReg.com for registration. You can also purchase a Season Pass through our webstore to be automatically signed up for the entire year.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Single race entries at $36, plus BikeReg fees. Signing up for a Mini-Series pass gets you 5 races for the price of 6. If you don’t sign up on BikeReg, you can sign up at the track with an additional $9 surcharge. Additional races are $20 , whether you sign up at the track or on BikeReg.com. We take card and exact change at the track. Extra cash is given out as a prime.
